Tarang achieves SEI CMM Level 5

Tarang assessed at SEI CMM Level 5. Tarang Technologies, a Bangalore based software solutions and services company dedicated to providing web and wireless based solutions was assessed at SEI CMM Level 5 of the Software Capability Maturity Model (SW-CMM) of the Software Engineering Institute. The assessment was undertaken by KPMG. Tarang has been assessed for Design and Development of Software.

Capability Maturity Model (CMM®) instituted by the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University, USA is one of the most sought-after global quality assessment in the software industry. The CMM ratings, which are awarded after exhaustive independent evaluation involving analysis and review of software development capabilities, processes and products, help buyers determine reliable and low-risk suppliers of software products and services. Fewer than 100 companies in the world have been assessed at a CMM Level 5 rating.

The assessment was conducted by a team led by Mr. K. K Raman of KPMG. Commenting on his experiences, Mr. K.K. Raman, Lead Assessor said, "Team Tarang understands and follows quality in its activities. They are passionate about the companies' mission towards customer delight. The team is constantly looking at options to automate processes and offer a good amount of transparency to its customers. Several in-house built tools such as Antarang, bugzilla have been regularly used by the organisation."

Highlighting the value of assessment for the company, Mr. V. Rama Kumar CEO, Tarang Technologies said, "Tarang's achievement is a people's win and comes after 18 months of dedicated work by the team. Adding further on this achievement, Mr. Dwarakanath Babu, Manager Quality, said, "It was a great team effort. It just goes to prove that each person in Team Tarang is focused towards the journey. This is a significant milestone and our next milestones will be CMMI and BS 7799 in next 18- 24 months."
